The Role
We are hiring our first Account Executive. You will personally close our initial pharmaceutical deals and define the sales motion that follows.
Our commercial focus is high-throughput (96 samples and above) work in pharmaceutical research and development: mechanism of action studies, toxicology screens, and drug efficacy testing in New Approach Methodologies — organoid and induced pluripotent stem cell systems. Buying in this market runs through scientific evaluation, paid pilots, and enterprise procurement. It rewards scientific credibility and pilot conversion, not territory coverage.
What You’ll Do
• Sell directly into pharmaceutical research and development, discovery biology, and platform organizations.
• Convert early access and pilot studies into purchase orders.
• Translate scientific proof — organoid data, mechanism of action studies, benchmark results — into enterprise value propositions.
• Scope and price paid pilots at 96 samples and above, defend that pricing with data, and set the standard for what a successful pilot looks like — including where we are not a fit.
• Establish deal structure and expansion pathways across plates, programs, and platform adoption.
• Define the target customer map: who buys, what problem we solve for each group, and where the scientific champion sits relative to the economic buyer.
• Route field learning back into the product roadmap.
What You’ll Bring
• 5+ years closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with large pharmaceutical organizations — including deals you originated and signed yourself.
• Scientific credibility. Fluency in single-cell biology and screening workflows, with working command of organoid or induced pluripotent stem cell systems. You hold your own as a peer to senior pharmaceutical scientists and platform heads. Doctorate in a life science field preferred
• Account navigation. Experience moving between scientific champions, platform leaders, and procurement inside the same account, and converting evaluations into commercial contracts.
• Value-based pricing you set, not inherited. A record of pricing against outcomes and defending it under scrutiny.
• Founder-level ownership. Comfort operating without a team, territory, or enablement function, and judgment about where to spend scarce resources.
What success looks like
• Pharmaceutical pilots converted into revenue-bearing contracts.
• A repeatable enterprise sales narrative grounded in real scientific data.
• A credible foundation for scaling the sales function when product maturity and funding support it.
About Us
Themis Bios is building the infrastructure for modern biology. We make single-cell measurement quantitative and scalable, and carry it through to decisions a drug program can act on. Most single-cell work stops at the data. Ours is designed to reach a conclusion, one a discovery team can take into a review and defend.
