You'll join at a pivotal moment—when decisions matter, impact is immediate, and the runway to shape your career is wide open. We’re a high-performing team where you'll have real ownership and influence from day one.
More than 1,800 companies use GC AI to drive their business forward, including 150+ public companies, 25+ unicorns, and brands such as News Corp, Miro, Bass Pro Shops, Snyk, Skims, Liquid Death, Vercel, Zscaler, and TIME.
We've 10x'd revenue in 12 months, raised a $60 million Series B ($555 million valuation), and are growing faster than ever. We are backed by incredible investors, including Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel.
If you thrive when the stakes are high and the path isn't paved, you'll love it here. Our six guiding principles are: 1% better every day, customer obsession, ship today, find a way, care deeply, and own it completely. Come shape the future of legal work with us.
About The RoleWe're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team at GC AI. Our platform carries 1,700+ enterprise customers — including public companies and unicorns — and we’re growing fast. We need someone to make sure it can carry 10x more. This isn’t a feature-churn role. You’ll help own the foundational systems that let our product team ship with confidence: the infrastructure, the pipelines, the observability, and the operational foundation that everything else runs on. When you get it right, engineers move faster, customers trust us more, and the business grows.
You’ll have a real seat at the table — shaping engineering direction, setting the standard for how we build and operate infrastructure, and working closely with DevOps and backend engineering to raise the bar across the board.
Why This Role MattersGC AI is at an inflection point. The platform that got us here was built for speed — now it needs to be built for scale. As we grow into larger, more demanding enterprise customers, infrastructure correctness and reliability aren't just engineering concerns;
they're the foundation of customer trust. This role exists to close the gap between where the platform is and where it needs to be.
Own the infrastructure that enterprise legal teams trust every day — networking, compute, storage, and deployment pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
Build CI/CD pipelines that make deploying fast, safe, and boring (in the best way).
Define and enforce IaC standards using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar — turning manual processes into repeatable, auditable systems.
Bring clarity to a complex system: unify logging and observability so engineers can understand, debug, and operate the platform with confidence.
Keep things clean — environment isolation, network boundaries, operational hygiene — so we scale without accumulating hidden risk.
Make engineers faster by reducing toil, improving tooling, and building internal platform capabilities that compound over time.
Help define how we build — contribute to engineering culture and technical direction in a company where those decisions still matter.
You'll own our Google Cloud Platform foundation — IAM, service accounts, project isolation, networking — and make it something we're proud of.
You'll turn manual, error-prone processes into repeatable infrastructure as code using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar.
You think in systems and catch problems before they become incidents — and you build the tooling that makes that possible for everyone.
You'll bring clarity to our observability story — unified logging, meaningful alerts, pipelines that actually tell you what's happening.
You'll raise the backend engineering bar, bringing TypeScript experience and strong technical judgment to a team that's ready to level up.
Experience acting as a technical lead on a team or vertical;
strong communication skills.Experience with platform engineering, internal developer platforms (IDPs), or developer tooling.
Prior work in regulated or enterprise-focused environments.
Familiarity with SRE practices, incident response, or on-call workflows.
GC AI is distributed, and engineering is our most distributed team. We hire engineers across the US and Canada. Wherever you're based, expect up to 10% travel for coworking sessions and team off-sites across our hub cities.
Because we work across time zones, we prioritize engineers who communicate clearly in writing and operate well asynchronously. Strong written communication is a core part of how we build.
We’re building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren’t perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn’t the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We’re excited to meet you.
How We Work TogetherGC AI is a distributed company with team members across North America, and soon Europe. We believe that because our business is AI, human connection matters more, not less. We invest in bringing people together through our hub model: regular coworking sessions, customer dinners, team and company offsites. If you’re in a location without an office, expect up to 10% travel (and more for customer-facing roles).
Team members in the San Francisco Bay Area and Provo, UT (within 50 miles of the office) work together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we grow, we plan to establish permanent offices in more hub cities, and we will look to our team members to help build that in-person culture. We currently hire across the United States and Canada.
